Vermithrax Pejorative, Smaug, Draco, that big bull from Reign of Fire, Daenerys' dragons! Any of them would slaughter King Kong without breaking a sweat. Kong better have a giant harpoon or be one heck of a swimmer. Granted the squid in the film looks a lot smaller than Kong, but squids are known to overpower larger prey. If the two met on the squid’s home turf, however, Kong wouldn’t last long. After all, the giant sea beast didn’t fare too well once it left the briny depths to challenge the Nautilus in 1954’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Kong's gonna need some really big floaties.Okay, now here’s one monster King Kong could beat but only on land and only because cephalopods can’t breathe air. Also, he works for the god Poseidon, at the bidding of Zeus. Even if Kong managed to keep the fight on land the Kraken’s got tentacles powerful enough to pull ships under water and level cities. Even if the Kraken wasn’t a good deal bigger it would still have no trouble dispatching him it could simply pull the struggling gorilla under the water and wait until he stopped thrashing. On land or sea, this is not a fair fight.Whether you go with the original 1981 Clash of the Titans’ Kraken or the one from 2010, King Kong wouldn’t stand a chance. Add to that its innate ability to hide in the glare of the sun until just before it strikes and you’ve got the makings of a simian smackdown. It’s hard to judge Quetzalcoatl’s size since it seems to vary a good bit in the film but it’s definitely big and it definitely flies. Eventually, however, one would probably realize the Big Apple isn’t big enough for the both of them. It’s possible these two giant creatures would leave each other alone since one takes up residence in the Chrysler Building while the other prefers the Empire State Building. My art-deco style building is better than yours!Now this would be an interesting fight. That doesn't even take into account the dog-size parasites that would surely swarm Kong and infect him with their toxic yuck. ![]() The real problem for King Kong would be that Clover can weather pretty much any attack, up to and possibly including nuclear weapons, without taking any real damage. The stats we pulled are based on the current canon iterations of both Kong and Godzilla from the Legendary MonsterVerse.Where are you, little monkey?The Cloverfield monster has a size advantage over the giant ape as well, but that’s not what would ultimately tip the scales in its favor. Regardless of what side you fall under now, we've decided to break down which monster leads in some key categories that will play a major role in their fight to help inform your decision going into the brawl. ![]() The colossal primate has superior speed and agility, more battle experience from living on an island full of other monsters, and we don't know what news tricks he might have learned since we last saw him in Kong: Skull Island, which took place in 1973 when he wasn't even fully matured. The big lizard has nuclear fire breath, can go full supernova with the right prep, and was able to beat the three-headed monster King Ghidorah in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, asserting his dominance over all the other Kaiju. The main topic of discussion is the obvious one: Who's going to win this epic battle, Godzilla or King Kong?
